Sant Pere of Mongrony is a building that was established in 1138 and maintained parish functions until the 17th century, when they were transferred to the town of Gombrèn. From then, its only inhabitants were a custodian priest and some hermits. It has a single nave crowned by a Lombard apse, but in general it is a sombre building.

ART SAGRAT SANT PERE I SANTA MARIA DE MONTGRONY
El santuari es troba molt a prop de l'església de Sant Pere de Montgrony, que va ser l'església parroquial fins al s. XVII. La primera notícia escrita que es té del santuari data de 1400, quan ja hi havia una petita construcció dedicada a Mare de Déu, excavada en la pedra de les llegendàries escales que menen al pla de Sant Pere.

Sant Pere de Montgrony (Gombrèn, Ripollès) 42º 15,983'N ; 2º 5,133'E. Per la seva banda el temple de Sant Pere de Mogrony va anar deteriorant-se, fins que en 1880 el bisbe de Vic, Josep Morgades, va procedir a la restauració del temple. En 1915 es va realitzar una nova campanya de restauració, que foun completada en 1958 amb unes noves.
